It evolves from Slowpoke by trading. It is one of the final evolved forms of Slowpoke, with the other being Slowbro.
There is a chance that Slowking will be reverted into Slowpoke when exposed to a Devolution Spray KC-MK1 or Devolution Spray KC-MK2.
